What gets done in six months. Well, summer. Growing. Thinking. Planning. I did a spectacularly large art piece of Darren and Travis over the summer. It was a little like a gigantic storyboard. Very nice to have a deadline actually, because the plot was finally a bit more tangible. Oh, but after doing that I was out of commission for a while due to back pain, hand inflammations, and just being tired of drawing the two for a while. I've not quit on these two at all. College is back and so is my job and I really love it [my job that is; school is eh]. My art is evolving again so I'm just going to let it. I don't know when the next comic page is coming, but hopefully soon.
ALSO, I JUST REALIZED THAT THE LAST COMIC PAGE WAS POSTED IN THE WRONG SIZE. DURRRRRR, whoops.
And finally, another character appears. That took a while didn't it? Ahaha~ Oh, I had fun making some background for thissss. I'm debating writing the dialogue versus using a font. I don't know, it makes it seem more personalized? Mm, we'll see. From this point on much thinking and writing and rewriting will be needed ahaha.
Note: I'm working part-time now and finals are coming up! :V Apologies if i post any slower than this.
FOURTH WONDERFUL WONDERFUL PAGE IS HERE. Uh, really lacks a background. REALLY lacks any background. But the speedlines were really fun to do. God, I love photoshop for making it that much easier on me. So yes, Travis almost gets run over. Ahahaha~ I think I actually made it a little more dramatic than I wanted to...ah well. Action scenes are fun stuff.
My car looks kinda terrible. Don't ask for its make or model or whatever, I didn't base it on anything. Maybe some influence from my own car, but it looks like a mishmosh of too many things.
I'm learning a lot about paneling and slowly things are starting to look better I think. :D Still experimenting though!
I've been doing a lot of thinking lately... It's a bit of "oh man my comic doesn't look so good" and "what do I want it TO look like" and "you can't master perspective, paneling, and photoshop in a day". Well...my hopes are to create a wonderful comic... and it's not without practice. I'm rediscovering photoshop (I probably had a better handle of it before but I took a longggggg break from it. Probably forgot some neat tricks) so I can create something of better quality. Now here's the thing. I nag at myself a lot and even when something is "done" ergo, I posted it. It's really not done in my mind. I always think oh, maybe I should go back and AH! BUT THAT WAY THE COMIC NEVER PROGRESSES. And I really want the plot to advance so it's conflicting.
I'll consider posting some sketches in the meantime...
...I'm happy that I have so much to learn though. :>
Updated much earlier after that other post than expected. I changed Travis's hair style to something I'm more comfortable with drawing/MAKES SENSE/IS REPLICABLE. Because it was not before. Anyhow, his line of rather depressing thought continues. But don't we all seem to ask these darn questions once in a while? Hum... I did not pull that bottom scene off as well as I wanted to...
Just as a note, my style will probably evolve as this comic progresses. It's something for me to grow with so if it becomes incredibly inconsistent in style, do not become alarmed.
I'm back home for spring break~ It is QUITE nice to be out of college after finals week. Euargh Finals... But I think I did alright. My internet here is very slow for some reason, so that's limiting the amount of tegaki I'm doing :I But on the bright side, that means I'm allocating my time towards this comic instead. Ahaha. So I figured out what sort of paneling I wanted to do for page three. \o/ Though I think I will need to find some way to stop doing LONG HORIZONTAL PANELS. Expect page three later this week.
I'm currently working on page three and running into trouble with how the panels should flow. Augh....but I'll get it done. Hopefully some time in the next two weeks...though I have finals and spring break (That does not mean vacation time. That means family time). Please bear with me. I am NOT going to give up on this. Once I get the storyline actually ROLLING a little, I'll give a little background information on the characters as well as how I came up with this concept. I will also share with you all the agony and love I feel for this project. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" is an appropriate sound effect as it is rather ambiguous. I have decided to indicate which posts have comic pages with an asterisk. Anyhow, without further ado, here are page one and two. Ahaha, and yes. Starting with a color page seemed appropriate.
Ahhhhh, this is a blog for my webcomic. I didn't want to host it on a webcomic site because those places just make me somewhat uncomfortable/self-concious. This comic will contain much faggotry and sweetness and is probably romantic or some shit. I'll start posting some pages up quite soon along with background information and the like. I hope this goes well.
